The Call of Duty ELITE app for Android has just released today and get this – it’s just a port of the iPhone app.
It has the back button which is clearly unnecessary since Android phones have a hardware back button. Fail.
And according to a user, it doesn’t even have the Connect section!
Search User is there, its the only thing you can search for… click the search button in the upper right corner, type a name. What it doesn’t do is find names that are close to a name you searched for, it needs the exact user name.
So because of that, the Android app only receives a 3-star rating.
During the latest episode of “Roll Call” (ELITE Premium exclusive), they were discussing all the features of the current mobile ELITE apps. They also said that they have more features planned for the next coming months and they’re interested in hearing feedback from the app.
During the episode they confirmed that the ELITE Android app is coming January 17th.
The native iPad app will come later this year (no release date) and Beachhead is still thinking whether or not to develop a Windows Phone 7 app. Now that depends on users asking for it! So tweet to them if you want a WP7 app.

The Beachhead Studios team was kind enough to shed some light on the questions we’ve been asking since November 8th.
1 Can we get some screenshots and maybe a video of how the app works/looks?
Soon. This will come from our PR guys first, and will be coming soon. If you search the web you will see some older screenshots. It’s changed a bit since then.
2 Can Premium Members watch ELITE TV on the apps?
That is a future goal (also for the Console App) but it is not in the cards yet.
3 What app will be released first? (iOS or Android)
I need to confirm this, but we are going for near-simultaneous release.
4 What is the status of the Android app?
5 What is the latest news on the iOS App?
Both are in the final stages of “load testing” where we simulate the traffic from the app as if thousands of users were using it simultaneously to help ensure that the app works on day 1. We are being very meticulous about this testing because we need to avoid the instability that you guys suffered under in November and early December.
Once this testing is complete, we will give the app the green light and it will be ready for release.
MW3 Weapons (Android Only)
While MW3 Weapons only includes weapons, it is still amazing. It provides very detailed information about each and every MW3 weapon. It is very easy to use, that even the 2-year old baby using the iPad can use it with ease. It has a 5-star rating!
