Quickscoping was in MW2, but not in Black Ops. Will quickscoping be in MW3?
To catch a glitch, you must hire a glitcher – what Infinity Ward’s doing to find and address glitches.

mapMonkeys ‘r There – This Time It’s Official
There have been reports recently of four mapMonkeys glitchers that have flown into Los Angeles to test out the (real) MW3 beta, this time it’s official. These ‘reports’ were from the mapMonkeys website’s forums thread, saying that:
…four members of mapMonkeys are being flown out to California on Sunday, July 10th, to test Modern Warfare 3, including mapMonkey, IM Buddy8, skateboard, and myself!…
…this time, Infinity Ward is keeping us there an entire week so we can find more bugs and glitches than ever before! I know this goes against mapMonkeys since we thrive off of finding and sharing glitches with each other, but this is an amazing opportunity we can’t pass up!…
This time, Infinity Ward creative strategist Robert Bowling has confirmed that it is real, and said:
The mapMonkeys are correct. They’re out at the studio to help us run Modern Warfare 3’s multiplayer through its paces.
While we’ve been hammering away testing on it since it’s been up and running, these guys focus specifically on exploits that can potentially be used to an unfair advantage, such as getting outside a map’s playable area, inside geo, or find weapon / equipment exploits that were not intended by the designer so that we can catch and address these before it gets out to the public.
They’re a great addition to an already rigorous QA process that the internal team here at Infinity Ward / Sledgehammer and additionally at Activision have been doing since development began.
And Activision has promised MW3’s multiplayer is “the most advanced multiplayer ever”. Probably due to the revamped killstreak and unlock system, plus the rumours of usable vehicles in the game.

One Of Swords Talks About #CoDElite
Dan Amrich, a guy from Activision (don’t know his position) talked about Call of Duty EliteBETA in his blog recently since the BETA is to launch tomorrow. Here is some of what he said:
- When will the beta start?
The official start date is July 14, 2011. That is when the first wave of invites will go out. Later waves of invites will go out…later.
- How will I know if I got in?
You will get an email at the address you used when you signed up. It will contain instructions on what to do next.
- When will invites go out for the first wave?
The first wave starts Thursday, July 14. There is no set hour during the day for that to happen, so there’s no need to camp out at your computer. Also, it’s been said several times before, but it bears repeating: the first wave will be very small. It will grow with time, so you might not get in immediately. Don’t let that worry you; slow and steady is part of the plan. It has to be, or this won’t work at all.
- How are you selecting participants for the beta?
- How quickly do I have to respond to the invite? Will I lose my place in line if I get the invite while I’m at work?
- My friend got in and I didn’t. What’s the deal?
- Something didn’t work right with Elite during the beta — will you fix it?
- I didn’t find a glitch, but I do have a suggestion. Are you looking for that feedback too?
As much as I want to include more, this post will be too long. Of course, you can…

MW3 – Quickscoping?
Quickscoping was once in Modern Warfare 2, where you needed this class:
|Primary Weapon||Barrett .50cal||or||Intervention|
|Perk 1||Sleight of Hand Pro|
|Perk 2||Stopping Power Pro|
|Perk 3||Steady Aim Pro|
Quickscoping depended heavily on perks in the game, such as Sleight of Hand Pro and Steady Aim Pro. This wasn’t included in the latest Call of Duty game, Black Ops, since Treyarch called in ‘cheap playing’.
Anyway, in the upcoming game, there is much speculation whether the game will feature the ability to quickscope. There has been much speculation since IW described it as “like playing Call of Duty 4 with the advanced graphics of Modern Warfare 2,” and the game isn’t going to be built based on Black Ops, but on CoD 4.
But in a Q&A session held by Robert Bowling on Reddit, he proves otherwise.
Currently, you can still quick scope in Modern Warfare 3. Keep in mind though, multiplayer is always changing at this stage (new perks, new balancing, new everything all the time based on feedback), however our philosophy on that hasn’t changed since MW2.
CoD8MW3.com says “He does confirm its return; however it’s unclear in what form or its effectiveness.” Since Stopping Power has been confirmed by Robert Bowling not to return, there will be a different setup on MW3.
